Daneen Brooks, M.S., C.A.S has a lifelong history in supporting social justice, equal access, equity, and inclusion in health care and in an academic setting. Daneen is the President/Board Member of Brain Injury Coalition of CNY, Coordinator of Accessibility Resources at Onondaga Community College, and doctoral student in higher educational leadership.  

Daneen serves on various committees for Onondaga, including the Council on Diversity and Inclusion. Professor Brooks is a facilitator for Student Conversation Circles to support learning and engagement on issues related to race, gender, religion, economics status, and sexual orientation. Daneen identifies as a Person living with Traumatic Brain Injury/Post Concussion Warrior.  

She prides herself with a foundation in Counseling/Education.  She expands her ideology as a USI Holy Fire Reiki Practitioner.  On a personal note, Daneen enjoys time with family, hula hooping, doing restorative yoga and enjoying time in nature with her sister, and 3 dogs Jack, Bella, and Kayla. 

Her belief of community building through narrative, poetry, and song, has supported her journey in healing and recovery.  Meditation keeps her grounded.
