LAUREN HURVITZ
Lauren Hurvit, PINK Board Member, has a family history of extreme PCS, with her daughter, Natalie, who suffered a concussion from blows to the head during a lacrosse game which lasted over a year; her own concussion from slamming the back hatch of an SUV onto her head resulting in missing work for 3 months, some memory loss and word retrieval issues when she is tired that continue to this day; and her brother’s TBI from a car accident that lasted for over a year as well.
Lauren is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Communications and Corporate Marketing Officer for Turner. Hurvitz is responsible for brand reputation across all platforms; internal and external strategic communications, media relations, social media, corporate marketing, paid media and creative services for Turner and all of its brands globally, including CNN, TNT/TBS, Turner Sports, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV and Bleacher Report, assuring that all corporate marketing and communications reflect Turner’s core values and advance its business strategy.
Throughout her career, Lauren has helped advise and lead companies through disruption and has expertise in paid, owned and earned strategic positioning campaigns, digital, tech, consumer, philanthropy and cause-related marketing, employee engagement and culture change, CEO counsel and thought leader programs, financial communications including IPOs, M&A and investor relations, diversity programs and government and public affairs. She has served on the Executive Leadership team in all of her roles.
Previously Hurvitz worked for Starcom Mediavest Group, part of Publicis Groupe, where she served as Global Chief Communications & Brand Marketing Officer. Prior to that, she was Head of Global Corporate Communications and Events at AOL. Before that, she was Executive Vice President of Global Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for MTV Networks and all of its brands, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, CMT, Spike and Logo. At MTV Networks, she led all aspects of the corporate communications, standards and practices and corporate philanthropy functions. Previously, she was Executive Vice President of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, the strategic communications firm, specializing in CEO counsel, crisis communications, reputation and brand building and financial transactions.
She began her career in political campaign management, grassroots organizing and constituency building. She received an MBA from Columbia University and an A.B. in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology from Duke University.
Lauren lives in Manhattan with her husband, three teenage daughters and her dogs, Thomas Jefferson and A$AP Rocky.
