DR. RON SAVAGE
Dr. Ron Savage has worked with children, adolescents and young adults with neuro-developmental disabilities (i.e., acquired brain injuries and other neurological disabilities) for over 45 years. He is currently the Chairman of the Board for PINK Concussions, dedicated to understanding the unique differences in concussions and brain injuries in the female brain.
Dr. Savage also serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation. Dr. Savage is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Congress on Brain Injury in 2023. Dr. Savage is the Senior Consultant for the International Institute for the Brain (iBrain) and it’s affiliate programs.
Previously, Dr Savage was the Founding Chair of International Pediatric Brain Injury Society (IPBIS), President of the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, Chairman of the North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS), Editor of Brain Injury Professional, and served on the Board of Governors for the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA). In1992, he spearheaded the legislative effort to add “traumatic brain injury” to the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) special education law.
Dr. Savage was one of the Founding Board of the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) and the Editor of the first ACBIS Training Manuals, as well as Author of the original ACBIS Examination.
Dr. Savage served as Executive Vice President for the Bancroft Neurosciences Institute and directed the pediatric services division for Bancroft NeuroHealth in New Jersey. He is the former Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health and Rehabilitative Services at The May Institute and The May Center for NeuroRehabilitation in Massachusetts and the former Director of Clinical Services for Rehabilitation Services of New York (540 inpatient subacute beds for TBI).
In addition, Dr. Savage has started, directed and consulted with numerous specialized brain injury programs (inpatient and post-acute) for children and young adults throughout the United States.
